I didn’t watch the Super Bowl. I went to the Darioush Winery in Napa and was the guest of one of the managers. I think a fair trade off. But, I did DVR (digital video record) it and apparently so did others.
As Media Post reports, while the Super Bowl’s numbers were up. DVR usage might have reduced viewership in key demographics. But then again the article says that the DVR users might have actually watched the commercials more intently. The discussion goes round and round.
The bottom line? The effect of DVRs is still an unknown.
